TopSpec® sells accessories for these popular low-slope residential and commercial roofing systems:

  • An EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) roof is extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane, its primary application is for low-slope roofs. Often black in color, it is increasingly available in white-on-black configurations. It’s chief advantages:
    • Durability – Handles rain, snow, UV rays, abrasions, ozone, and most temperature extremes.
    • Well-known and favorable choice among general contractors, architects, and property owners.
    • Often used with an elastomeric top coat as a protective layer.
  • TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin): A broad family of laminated rubber roofing systems, it is probably the most widely used roofing product due to:
    • Low cost.
    • It is white on top and gray on the bottom.
    • Comes in relatively small rolls &ndash 8-feet-wide x 50-feet, up to 100-feet.
    • Available in thicknesses ranging from 45, 60, 72, 80, and 90 mm.
  • PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) are usually mechanically attached roofing systems. Other types are fully adhered or ballasted systems. Common characteristics include:
    • Seams are glued, taped or heat welded.
    • Very durable and able to withstand the constant expansion/contraction of the building throughout its life.
    • Lightweight and available in thicknesses of 36 to 90 mm; 50 mm is the most common.
    • Rolls are 5-to-12-feet wide x 50-feet up to 100-feet.
